With the level of talent the Lakers have in their squad, it's easy to overlook the importance of Pau Gasol when it comes to winning a championship. His disappearing act in last year's playoffs didn't quite sit well with Laker fans, but even an unravelled Gasol still gives the purple and gold a chance to go all the way.
Since his acquisition on Feb. 1, 2008, the Lakers have never missed a single playoff and appeared in every NBA Finals except last season. That's 3 straight Finals with the Lakers winning the last 2. That's impressive no matter how you cut it.
